Droog/Brain Dead Rag Chair by Tejo Remy

$10,000.00

Established in 1993 by product designer Gijs Bakker and art and design historian Renny Ramakers with the goal of showcasing Dutch design, Droog is a powerhouse of conceptual design yet, just like Brain Dead, is hard to pinpoint under a specific category.

Since its inception, working with a wide array of amazing designers, Droog has focused on flipping everyday materials into new, beautiful objects. The name Droog translates to “Dry” in Dutch, conveying the playful dry humor that distinguishes their work. The Rag Chair was one of four designs Tejo Remy presented when he graduated from HKU University of the Arts Utrecht in 1991—a prime example of “upcycling” which has now become one Droog’s most iconic designs.

Every Brain Dead Rag Chair contains over 50 pieces of left over samples, flawed items, and dead stock, and is unique.
